Tomorrow we remember Australian and NZ soldiers. Wellington currently has two incredible exhibitions worth a visit:
The Dominion Museum
The Great War Exhibition
The world-class Great War exhibition at the Dominion Museum is well worth a visit. It begins with a walk-through Belgian town from 1914 then moves through to vivid and memorable props and colourised photographs.
Gallipoli: The scale of our war
With the help of incredible Weta Workshop artistry, Te Papa created this immersive Gallipoli exhibition to tell the story of war through the eyes of eight New Zealanders.

Around Wellington there are other events going on, including the annual 6am dawn service. Some events are listed on the City Council website. There’s also a Soldiers’ Cemetery tour in the afternoon, or you could grab your torch and walk through the Wrights Hill Fortress underground tunnel system.
