The Tour Aotearoa is fast approaching, Marcus Baguley and I are committed to our 14 February start date for the 2018 Tour.
This weekend another TA rider, Jules, has wrangled us for our first overnight test ride. So we’ve packed our bikes ready to head up the Hutt River Valley after work with the plan to camp overnight on the Rimutaka rail trail and then the next morning we’ll head over to the Wairarapa and cycle south around to Pencarrow Head and back via Eastbourne to Wellington City.
Over the last couple of months I have been riding a number of 100km per day journeys. But this morning I rode to work with my bike fully equipped and loaded with everything I need, as if I were starting the TA today. This weekend will be the first full test of camping gear, bike and rider. Here are some pics of my bike loaded and ready to go.
