Sustainability in IT business. What you can do to decarbonise
Most of us are onboard with the fact that humans have been overconsuming the earth's resources at an unsustainable rate. Action from a global, government, and local government level is still unsatisfactory. Everyone needs to start doing their bit, and hopefully each little bit adds up and makes a big difference.

Abletech Values - Part 1
In April 2022 we checked in with the team to find out how connected they feel to the Abletech values and ask if they were empowered to live them each day at Abletech. This blog is a summary of the results from the April survey.

What is Agile?
To understand how agile came to be popular in our industry it helps to understand what came before. When software came out of University Computer Laboratories and people with Computer Science degrees were working in companies using computers to build business applications, the industry looked to existing industries for inspiration of how to structure their work. The industry they chose was engineering. A number of principals were adopted from Engineering and applied to software projects.

Supporting young Māori and Pacific peoples in leadership
When presented with some damning statistics on the presence of Māori and Pacific peoples in corporate-sector leadership positions, Abletech was delighted to join a campaign for change.

Board Games Night 2021
The popularity of these nights is linked to our Abletech culture, team values and family-friendly community. We like hanging out together. We enjoy getting to know each other’s partners and families.

Peak performance
Our team spent the day with international award winning trainer Mike Catton. We upskilled in the latest science behind maximising productivity and managing time efficiently.

World Environment Day
We are proud to have recently joined the Sustainable Business Network. To celebrate this, and World Environment Day, we took part in Conservation Volunteers NZ’s tree planting competition at Tawatawa Reserve in Island Bay.
